DZJC reporter to have been slain, following  Andy Acosta and Roger Mariano, who were also silenced allegedly for their hard-hitting stance on corruption in the Ilocos region.

Over 100 mediamen have been slain in the last 10 years.  Last November, Henry Araneta of DZRH-Aksyon Radyo Central Mindanao was among the victims of the Maguindanao massacre.  We also remember our fallen colleagues Jun Pala and Fernando Lintuan of DZGO-Aksyon Radyo Davao, Leo Luna Mila or Radyo Natin-Northern Samar, Arecio Pagrigao of Gingoog, Misamis Oriental, Arnel Manalo of DZRH-Batangas, and Ely Binoya of Radyo Natin-General Santos City,

With the advent of a new administration, the broadcast sector hopes that the clamor to stop media killings will not go unheeded.  We ask for justice for the men and women whose calling was to respond to the people's right to know.
